Jurgen Klopp hints at a dull transfer window for Liverpool
In an interview with Norwegian outlet TV2 (h/t Liverpool Echo), Jurgen Klopp has hinted at an underwhelming transfer window for Liverpool. However, the manager did not entirely rule out new arrivals. He suggested that the club might need to sell some players before signing someone.
“You have to make changes from time to time, but then there must be room to do it. We do not want more players. If something happens somewhere, something can happen somewhere else, but it makes no sense to add more players.”
Ibrahima Konate has been the only new arrival for the Reds so far in the ongoing transfer window. However, Klopp suggests that he is satisfied with his current squad.
“Let’s go through the squad. Do you want to buy a new fullback? A new goalkeeper? We already have good players there.”
Questions have been raised over the club midfield. Liverpool are yet to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum. Doubts over the fitness of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are still there. However, Klopp suggests that he is not worried about the midfield .
“In midfield, we have players with a lot of experience, such as Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita. In addition, we have exciting young boys in Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones.”
Do Liverpool need any more additions?
Klopp has shown that he can coach a side to a title win. Furthermore, Liverpool are never one to really make many headlines in the transfer market.
