Transfer News: Liverpool prepare five-player transfer shortlist including Jarrod Bowen
According to transfer news from Goal.com (h/t Express), Liverpool have shortlisted five players to add to Jurgen Klopp’s squad in the ongoing transfer window. The Likes of Jarrod Bowen and Yves Bissouma are on their radar.
The Reds are not known to make headlines in the transfer market. This season has been the same. So far, the club have only brought Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig. On the departures side, Georginio Wijnaldum has left for PSG.
The lack of urgency could hurt Liverpool’s title ambitions. Rivals, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all flexed their muscles in the window. Hence, Liverpool might need to act fast.
Five-man shortlist
The report adds several Premier League players looked upon by Liverpool. West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen has made the shortlist along with, Leicester’s Harvey Barnes and Wolves’ Pedro Neto. The common theme in the above-mentioned names is that they are all wingers.
This could line up with the fact that Sadio Mane had a dip in form last season. While it could be just a season thing, the club could be looking for backups. Apart from that, Mane and Mohammed Salah will miss some games in January due to international duties.
Midfielders, Florian Neuhaus of Borussia Monchengladbach and Yves Bissouma are the other two players linked in the report. The players could be looked on to fill the void left by Wijnaldum.
Speaking to the reporters (h/t Express), Jurgen Klopp insisted that he is satisfied with his current squad. However, the fans might see a new face or two before the window shuts.
“I am very happy with the squad I have. There might still be something happening before the end of the transfer window.”

As for new signings, only time will tell.
