Former Tottenham star has told Arsenal to cash in on five Arsenal players to sign Bellingham
According to Mirror, Arsenal have been told to cash in on five players to sign £80m Liverpool target Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool are believed to be eyeing a move for the midfielder next summer. The Reds only signing this window was Ibrahim Konate from RB Leipzig.
Jude Bellingham is quickly growing to be a major name in European football. The 18-years old midfielder made a switch to the German club after a successful spell at Birmingham City. Since then, the teenager has been impressing onlookers with his performances. He was also part of Gareth Southgate’s Euros squad and recently appeared for the Three Lions in the qualifiers against Andorra.
However, former Tottenham striker Darren Bent, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, urged the Gunners to get hold of the highly-rated Dortmund midfielder in a swap deal potentially involving five of the current team players. The former Spurs player said on TalkSPORT (h/t Mirror):
“I’d really switch five players for him, I’d chop in five for him.
When asked upon which of those five Arsenal players he would trade in for Bellingham, he outlined:
“Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Cedric, Bernd Leno, Calum Chambers. There’s your five and I’d give you £50million on top to get him.”
This summer, Liverpool lost a key midfield player, Georginio Wijnaldum, to PSG. And that departure was followed by Xherdan Shaqiri, who made the switch to the French club Lyon. Despite losing their midfield stars, Liverpool were hesitant to get an established player on a big-money move by the end of the window.

Despite failing to sign any major midfielder this summer, Liverpool are in contention to win the Premier League title this season. Three points against Norwich City, Burnley and a draw at home to Chelsea saw the Reds continue their unbeaten run which will be put to the test when they travel to Elland Road to face off against Leeds United.
