In-form Liverpool starlet demands more from his team after victory at Leeds

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold beleives his team needs to be more clinical

Speaking to the club’s official website, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that the team can be more clinical after the win against Leeds. The Reds were dominant throughout the game and ensured the three points with a 3-0 away from home.

Liverpool faced a tough challenge away at Elland Road but Jurgen Klopp’s players rose to the occasion and ensured a 3-0 win. Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane were on the score sheet for the team, while Leeds remained second best to the Reds in all the departments as they were reduced down to ten men following a red card to defender Pascal Struijk.

Trent Alexander Arnold believed the team could have been more clinical in scoring goals against Leeds.

However, despite the dominant display for the team, Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold believed the team could do much better in the final third. Speaking after the game the defender said:

“It’s always difficult to come here. It’s difficult to find space but once you can, it kind of opens up and you’re able to create chances – and I think that’s what we did.

“We could have been a lot more clinical, put the game to bed earlier and really probably scored a lot more goals. But you never turn your nose up at a 3-0 win at Elland Road – a clean sheet, three goals and three points.”

Alexander-Arnold had a good outing against the Whites, setting up a goal, taking his tally to two assists in four games this term. There were more positives for the Reds as midfield ace Thiago Alcantara also impressed after returning to the starting line-up.

Harvey Eliott could miss out on the rest of the season following a serious ankle injury.

However, not everything went well on the day for the Reds as their young midfielder, Harvey Elliott succumbed to a major ankle injury and was stretchered off from the field in the second half. The 18-year old could potentially miss out on the rest of the season due to the injury he suffered.
