Liverpool remain keen on Fiorentina’s prolific young ace, Dusan Vlahovic

According to Sky Deutschland via Sport Witness (h/t Liverpool Echo), Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic in on the radar of Premier League giants Liverpool.

Earlier, Rocco Commisso, the president of the Italian club, had released a statement saying that Vlahovic is keen to leave La Viola. The statement stated that the 21-year-old rejected an offer, which would have made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Vlahovic is in fine form this season and has picked up from where he left off last campaign. He has scored six goals and provided an assist in nine matches so far this season.

However, the Reds will also be facing competition from the Bundesliga duo of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The tug of war will only grow fiercer should Vlahovic keep up his goalscoring run.

The Serbian’s agent had revealed that his current club had rejected a bid of £50 million from a top club in the summer. The centre-forward is also subject to interest from other top clubs namely Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

If the Serbian international moves to Anfield, it would bolster the Reds’ attack that is sorely lacking in depth. Landing Vlahovic will also permit Jurgen Klopp to move Diogo Jota to the wing as a backup to Sadio Mane.

As the Serbian striker’s contract is set to expire in 2023, Commisso could let him leave in the coming transfer window rather than risk losing him on a free in two years time.

But, with multiple teams interested, it could also lead to a bidding war which would make it tough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to come out on top.
