RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi opens up on interest from Liverpool among others

Speaking to Heute (h/t Liverpool Echo), RB Salzburg ace Karim Adeyemi has given his thoughts on the interest shown in him from major clubs across Europe. He recently scored in their 3-1 win over Wolfsburg at the Red Bull Arena.

The 19-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. This is down to his performances for the Austrian club in the Austrian Bundesliga and Champions League.

The centre-forward has scored 12 goals and assisted twice in 17 games across all competitions. The recent win saw them top their Champions League group with seven points ahead of Sevilla, Lille and Wolfsburg.

Karim Adeyemi is one of the best young talents in Europe.

Adeyemi admits while he is honoured to be linked to some top clubs, his focus at the moment remains on Salzburg. He believes the partnership is a win-win for both parties.

“I’m very relaxed about it. I feel honoured, but nothing more. I have my focus here at Salzburg. We play well together. It works perfectly.”

The Reds could pursue the striker as they are lack dependable squad depth up front. With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah looking likely to miss up to eight games due to AFCON, the English club could look at Adeyemi as a solution.

The teenager further added that his mind is at Salzburg and wants to progress with the club. His output has forced Hansi Flick to add him to his plans at the German national team. A well deserved call up indeed.

It remains to be seen what lies in store for the youngster as he could move to Germany to establish his prominence in the national team. Or he could move to Anfield and play under Jurgen Klopp, who could help him attain newer heights just like he did with Mohamed Salah.
