Jurgen Klopp claims Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara is fine despite injury scare vs Manchester United
Speaking after Liverpool’s win against Manchester United in the Premier League as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp has clarified that a ‘perfect night’ has not been spoilt by an injury to Thiago Alcantara with the Spaniard supposedly fine.
Liverpool ran riot against Ralf Rangnick’s men putting 4 past David de Gea at Anfield last night as they continue to pile up the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table. Mohamed Salah scored a brace with goals from Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane also helping the Reds.
Klopp’s men were exceptional against the Red Devils last night and the gulf between the class of both the teams was clearly on display. One player who was exceptional for the Reds last night was Thiago Alcantara.
The Spaniard was unbelievable, controlling the tempo of the game and having a huge impact on Liverpool’s performance. However, he was replaced with ten minutes remaining in the game.
The Spaniard had the left side of his shorts pulled up for a few minutes when on the pitch and with the way he was playing, it was a surprise to see the Spaniard subbed off. Klopp, however, clarified that there was no issue with Thiago and that he is fine- much to the relief of LFC fans around the globe.
“He ripped his shorts. Afterwards he told me. I thought it was something else but obviously he was fine.”

The 30-year-old has had a tough time trying to maintain his fitness ever since arriving at Anfield. The Spanish professional footballer has had to suffer from calf and hip problems and a spell of Covid-19 which largely reduced his involvement in the first-team.
The former Bayern Munich player has slowly started to get in his stride though and has started performing to the potential we know he has.
Thiago has finally seemingly put his injury problems behind him and is finally looking like the player Liverpool signed back in 2020. Liverpool look like a completely different team when Thiago plays. Some of the stuff he does with the ball leaves Anfield gasping- with the ball being under his spell as if he was a magician.

He has dominated Man City and Man Utd’s midfield in back-to-back games and it is clear that he is the player Klopp has now started looking at as the man to control his midfield on the big occasions.
