“Great shout”- Liverpool icon backs Reds to move for Arsenal ace

Bukayo Saka to Liverpool could be a big possibility after Sadio Mane moves to Bayern

While speaking in an interview with Genting Bets as quoted by Daily Express, Liverpool icon Jose Enrique has suggested that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka would be a great addition to the Reds roster once Sadio Mane leaves.

The young Englishman has become a major asset for Arsenal after putting in awe-inspiring spells in the recent campaign. By scoring 12 goals in 43 matches across all competitions, the 20-year-old has ended the season as Gunner’s top scorer and remains one of the hottest young prospects in the Premier League.

Liverpool have been linked with Saka as it is believed that Jurgen Klopp is an ardent admirer of the Gunners’ youngster. Even though the Reds haven’t made any solid move until this point Liverpool icon Jose Enrique believes

the 20-year-old arriving at Anfield is a possibility.

“We also need a right-winger and I think Jarrod Bowen or Bukayo Saka could be a great shout as they’re both not playing in the Champions League, so it’s a big possibility.”

Liverpool are negotiating with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Mane. The Senegalese forward has been crucial to the Reds’ success under Klopp and is believed to be eyeing a different challenge. If the 30-year-old leaves, the Reds would require a quality replacement and Saka could fill that void.

Will Saka move to Liverpool?

Liverpool signed Luis Diaz in the winter transfer window which proved pivotal in their bid for the quadruple. The Colombian has flourished in his debut spell and has already created some standout moments in red.

Without any proper backup, Mane’s move will impact Liverpool’s strength in depth. The Reds cannot afford to go into the 2022/23 campaign sans a dependable goalscorer who can keep up with Mohamed Salah.

With Diaz filling in, any new arrival might not get a significant amount of game time on this Liverpool team. Considering Saka is young and in the initial years of his peak years, he might value game time more than a better sporting project.

That’s why it seems improbable that the 20-year-old would choose to switch to Liverpool. The Reds should focus on other transfer targets who would cost a reasonable price and would be happy to not just make a difference but also accept a role that could see them get rotated on a regular basis.
