Liverpool dealt £78m transfer concern as European giants look to steal a march on Bundesliga ace

Real Madrid plan to pip Liverpool to Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham

According to the Spanish outlet Cadena Ser (h/t Metro), Real Madrid are plotting to beat Liverpool and complete a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in this summer transfer window. He is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in world football at this moment.

The Reds have plans to improve their midfield options and have targeted Bellingham as a result. However, Real are planning to push ahead of others in the midfielder’s pursuit by reaching an agreement with Dortmund regarding the transfer fees involved in a potential move.

However, BVB and the England international himself has no plans to part ways with each other this summer. That being said, their intentions align with the Madrid club as the Spanish side only want

to reach a deal early before taking him away after the next season.

Real to succeed in their attempt?

Apparently, Los Blancos have reached the full allotted quota of non-EU players in their squad but will see a spot free up when Vinicius Junior gets his Spanish passport next year. That explains why they are willing to let Bellingham stay at Signal Iduna Park for the next campaign.

That could be an issue for us if the La Liga champions can reach an agreement with Bellingham and the German club over a move. After all, all of them have common objectives at this point which does not bode well for us.

Furthermore, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking to find common ground early with the Bundesliga giants to deal with the possibility of an increasing asking price in the future. The former wants to strike a £78million deal for the 18-year-old to help with their case.

Then again, it would be normal to cast doubts on the Champions League winners’ chances as Die Schwarzgelben

would be taking losses to their valuation by reaching an early agreement. In such a case, perhaps we may not need to worry about Real Madrid after all.

Bellingham would be a perfect addition to our midfield under the current circumstances. James Milner would need to be replaced sooner rather than later, while Jordan Henderson is also in the twilight of his playing career.

Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain has been linked with an exit, whereas Thiago Alcantara has struggled with fitness woes. Finally, Naby Keita has not performed consistently, paving the way for Bellingham to have a major role in our team. Hence, we must be ready to snatch at any opportunity, although that may only be possible after next season.
