Lancashire-based club keen to sign Liverpool defender with seven international caps

LFC Transfer News: Bolton Wanderers want Liverpool academy starlet Conor Bradley

Bolton Wanderers have taken an interest in signing Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley. That is according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon account (h/t Manchester Evening News

).

The 18-year-old LFC academy starlet grabbed the headlines when he was a last-minute substitute in a UEFA Champions League group game against AC Milan at San Siro last year. He had four other senior appearances to add to that.

Three in the EFL Cup and one in the FA Cup- both tournaments that we went on to win. Now, it seems like Bradley could be on his way to League One, with the Trotters holding an interest in him.

Tyrone-born Bradley has spent the entirety of his professional career on our books, and has been a regular in Premier League 2. The latest season showed that he could be knocking on the door for more first-team opportunities.

Bradley to third division?

But in all fairness, that looks unlikely. The Reds have one of the world’s finest in that position in Trent Alexander-Arnold, while a deal for Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay looks very close to happening.

Neco Williams, at least for now, remains a Red while Joe Gomez has shown that he can play in that position in Trent’s absence. Amidst this situation, it’s best if Bradley joins a team where he can be a regular starter.

The Liverpool number 84 already has seven senior caps for the Northern Ireland national team. If he wants a chokehold on that spot, he must keep playing regularly at the club level.

Ian Evatt played a three and a four-man backline at times last season, with vice-captain Gethin Jones playing as a right-sided centre-back in the former, and as a natural right-back in the latter.

Hence, there is a chance that Bradley can get minutes alongside Jones or even in his place, granted he becomes unavailable for selection. A loan move may be best in case the Reds don’t want to lose the youngster permanently but it remains to be seen what the Lancashire-based club and Bradley want.
