Liverpool issue ‘warning’ to World Cup winner’s agent for spreading ‘fake rumours’

Liverpool issue warning to the agent of Ousmane Dembele for spreading ‘fake rumours’

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs via HITC (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have sent a warning to Moussa Sissoko, the agent of Ousmane Dembele, over spreading ‘fake rumours’.

The French superstar is yet to renew his contract at Barcelona and as of today, is a free agent. Given his talent and a strong finish to the latest season, his agent would be eyeing a solid contract from the Catalan giants.

Barcelona’s financial struggles are no secret for anyone following the sport for the past year or so. Chelsea have been linked

with the 25-year-old winger as well, but it seems that the Reds don’t see themselves as a part of this particular race.
Ousmane Dembele has had his fair share of injuries at Barcelona.

This comes as a dampener for any Liverpool fan looking forward to seeing our club make a push for the former Borussia Dortmund star’s signature. He is one of the best in the business down that right flank.

Why not?

And that is a position we need to address. Mohamed Salah hasn’t had a readymade backup down that flank for a while and now, the Egyptian star seems to be on his way out next summer.

He is yet to renew his deal at LFC and at 30, it is inevitable that the Reds would want to replace him with a quality player in the future. They don’t come any better than Dembele.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with France is quick with his feet and knows how to make things happen in the final third. If he doesn’t renew his deal with Barca, he will leave as a free agent this summer.

Any wage demands the player may have can then be cushioned by the fact that the Reds won’t be paying anything to Barca in transfer fees. Nevertheless, it seems like nothing more than fantasy if Jacobs’ claim proves to be true.

Hopefully, it is just the Reds trying to remain covert in their pursuit because there won’t be many better chances to sign a player like Dembele for free- a player who commanded a £135.5million transfer fee back in 2017.
