RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann shares his thoughts on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp before friendly
Lukas Klosterman has shared his thoughts on the Liverpool team, calling the Reds “one of the best”. The RB Leipzig defender also spoke of his admiration for Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool face off against Die Roten Bullen in the Red Bull Arena. The Reds last had a game against the Bundesliga side in the Champions League round of 16 a couple of seasons ago, where we beat them convincingly.
Speaking ahead of the game with Leipziger Volkszeitung (h/t Liverpool Echo), Klostermann praised the Merseyside club as being only one of the handful of clubs with world-class ability. The 26-year-old is looking forward to the prospect of facing off against one of the best teams.
“I think Liverpool have one of the best teams in Europe. There are five or six teams at the top that are of the same level, and only nuances decide. We can look forward to a great game, also to see where we are at the moment.”
Liverpool have been one of the most dominant teams over the last few years in world football. Only Manchester City have been ahead of us in terms of Premier League laurels over the last five seasons.
The Reds have been dominant in Europe though, winning the Champions League final in the 2018/19 campaign. We’ve also made it to the finals on three occasions in the last five years.
And Jurgen Klopp has been a big reason for that success. Klostermann, who’s played alongside Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate, feels the German manager brings the best out of the side.
“He conveys a lot of emotion. I think that can give a team that certain kick. But we also have a coach who puts his heart and soul into it and also shows his emotions during the game. I think that’s great. That can tickle out the last percentages in a team.”
Liverpool barely missed out on the quadruple last season. We had one of the best defences in the league as well as one of the PL Golden Boot winners in Mohamed Salah.
Our midfield boasts some of the best players. Thiago Alcantara is one of the best passers of the ball in the game. Fabinho brings solidity to the middle of the park. And Jordan Henderson is the heart of the engine room.

Going into next season, we’ve lost some players but have made decent additions to the squad. Fans will hope Liverpool can keep up with other top teams next season and bring home the trophies that eluded us in the previous campaign.
