Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool aren’t looking to make any more signings this summer, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The Reds have seemingly completed their business for this window.
The Merseysiders have made three new signings this summer with the arrival of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay. The players have come in to fill in the gaps left in the squad.
Liverpool have seen a lot of departures in the window. We lost one of our best players in Sadio Mane
at the beginning of the window. Other players who were an important part of the squad, such as Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi, have also left.Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports, admitted that Liverpool weren’t looking at any other incoming signings this summer.
“If nobody wants to leave we are done. Or if a bad injury comes…I don’t hope so. But if it stays like this then Liverpool fans can start focusing on other things.”
Currently, the Reds’ squad is stacked with experience as well as youth. We have a lot of options in every position of the pitch. Starting from the goalkeeper to the attackers, we have decent back-ups for almost every position.
The defence was reinforced last season with Ibrahima Konate’s arrival. The Frenchman has provided much needed support when either Virgil van Dijk or Joel Matip haven’t been available. Joe Gomez
has also extended his contract and it seems like he’s staying on for a long time here.Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold also have decent backups in Konstantinos Tsimikas and Ramsay. The midfield hasn’t seen an arrival, but Fabio Carvalho has been tested by Klopp in the middle of the park during pre-season. We already have other great options for the engine room.
The attack is also well stacked. Mohamed Salah has committed his future to the club. Roberto Firmino is back after suffering niggling injuries in the previous campaign. Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Nunez are in the squad to provide support.
Liverpool were gunning for the quadruple next season. We haven’t seen too much change going into next season. But fans will feel we’re still strong enough to be challengers once again next season.
