Italian giants will need to raise their offer to land Liverpool star

Juventus and Liverpool are miles away in Roberto Firmino valuation

According to The Mirror, Italian giants Juventus would need Liverpool to lower their asking price for Roberto Firmino if they have any chance to make a deal. Given Juventus’ keen interest, Firmino’s future at Anfield would be closely watched this summer.

The Brazilian is reportedly pondering leaving the Reds in the current transfer window as his position in the team is reportedly threatened by Darwin Nunez’s arrival. The attacker would be intrigued by the idea of joining Juventus, who are eager to bring him to Turin.

The current gap between what Liverpool want and what Juventus are willing to offer suggests that no deal is likely to be finalised any sooner. The Reds are willing to let him go if the Italian giants match their €30 million valuation.

Despite the 30-year-old being in the final year of his contract, Jurgen Klopp would be unwilling to sell his star asset as he has called him the ‘heart and soul’ of the team. Speaking to the club’s official website, the German manager said:

“Bobby is crucial for us. Bobby is [the] heart and soul of this team. I am absolutely fine and, for me, there’s no doubt about his quality. All the rest, we will see how this year goes, but yes, he is essential for us.”

Juventus are only willing to offer between €18 and €20 million, plus any potential add-ons. They have no intention of currently meeting Liverpool’s asking price.

The prolific striker has scored 98 goals in 327 games for the Reds in the seven seasons at Anfield, and he has been a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s title-winning squad.  However, the former Hoffenheim attacker started just ten Premier League games last season, and it’s unlikely that his playing time will change much this year.

To ensure his spot in Brazil’s World Cup team later this year, Firmino would want to play every week of the upcoming season. It would be interesting to see whether the Brazilian prefers to stay put at Anfield or provide a hand to Juventus.
