Real Madrid ready to challenge Liverpool for Jude Bellingham next summer
According to Liverpool Echo, Spanish giants, Real Madrid have apparently set their sights on landing top Liverpool target, Jude Bellingham next summer. The Los Blancos have been busy rebuilding their new-look midfield as several of their key players are heading toward the final year of their contracts.
Carlo Ancelotti would look to add a new central midfielder to replace Luka Modrić, as the Croatian would turn 37 next year. However, Bellingham would find many potential suitors other than the Spanish Champions.
Liverpool are also keen to add some fresh legs in midfield and would look at the 19-year-old as a great future prospect. The former Birmingham midfielder is known for his exquisite passing skills, amazing fitness, and born leadership qualities.
Although he joined Borussia Dortmund for a minimal fee, his latest performances have skyrocketed his asking price. Last season, the prolific playmaker registered six goals and 14 assists to his name in just 44 appearances.
He has also won 15 International caps at such a tender age which demonstrates an exciting future ahead of him. Liverpool will do well with a player of Bellingham’s abilities.
Although Real Madrid have just entered the race, Liverpool have been after the Borussia Dortmund sta for a while now. Jurgen Klopp faces a similar issue in midfield as he would desire to bring in some fresh players to replace his ageing midfield.
Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara have been the mainstay players for Klopp and Fabinho has taken over the defensive duties. However, both Henderson and Alcantara, are in their thirties and the club needs to look at the bigger picture.
With the departure of key midfielder Wijnaldum, the Reds would need to reshuffle the central zone in the coming years. Naby Keita would be a future starter but the club would require the help of Bellingham to secure their midfield position.
Jurgen Klopp has never been shy while using his young players as evident by the positional change of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot. Both the youngsters were initially used as wingers but are now made to play in midfield, a place where they are excelling.

However, the Anfield side needs to sign a commanding young player in the middle who has enough experience in his bag to help the Reds to compete for titles in the future. Bellingham would not come for cheap as Dortmund would readily ask for a fee of around £120million.
It would be interesting to see whether Liverpool decides to cash in on the English midfielder or prefers to let Real Madrid take over the race next summer.
