According to Radio Castellon and ESport Base(h/t Liverpool Echo) , Liverpool have already offered €40m to Villarreal for the signing of young winger Yeremy Pino.
While this falls below Villarreal’s release clause for the player, the Yellow Submarines might be willing to play game. The Spaniards appear open to offers between €40-50 million for the 19-year-old.
Even with multiple deals around, Villarreal values the youngster very highly and are reluctant to let go of him this summer. In spite of troubling financial times for the entire La Liga, they could play hardball when it comes to negotiations.
There seems to be a notion that he is better off staying put at the Estadio de La Ceramica. Pino’s camp believes that Villarreal is the perfect club for the player’s growth and there will be opportunities in the future to move on.
The Reds will however have to beat off competition from Arsenal who are also keen on the player. Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a good summer and can add further to their attack by landing the 19-year-old.
Liverpool have already invested a lot of money in the club this summer overseeing the buying of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey. Whether Jurgen Klopp is ready to dip into the market once again remains to be seen.
With the likes of Mohamed Salah, Harvey Elliot, Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz all available, Klopp has a gluttony of attacking talent at his disposal. Landing Pino should not be a priority for the club as it stands.
