“Found a right foot”- Jurgen Klopp opens up on his ‘crazy’ attacking ace’s new found strength

Jurgen Klopp opens up on Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp was assessing his options upfront and talked about his golden-boot winning winger Mohamed Salah.

Salah won the PFA Player of the year for his outstanding 2021-22 season. In 35 league appearances, the Egyptian scored 23 goals and made 14 assists. Salah, recently penned down a new contract with the Reds, extending his stay at Anfield until 2025.

Klopp spoke to the press, saying Salah returned to pre-season with something distinct.

“I think he found a right foot on holiday. He always develops. It’s really crazy. I know a few years back he arrived and usually when a player comes from outside inside they use the inside of the foot to spin the ball and all of a sudden he had the full throttle”

Salah already possesses a rocket of a left foot, scoring numerous goals for the Reds. The Egyptian working on his weaker right foot couldn’t come at a better time for Liverpool. The right-winger scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford the last time he played here and would hope to emulate that performance.

Salah extended his record of scoring in consecutive opening gameweeks, taking his streak to six. He completed this record when he slotted one past Fulham keeper Marek Rodak on opening night of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

The ex-Roma winger would hope to get back to scoring goals for fun, starting against Manchester United who we face this Monday. Luis Diaz, Salah and Roberto Firmino are expected to start the game up front for the Reds.

Salah also spoke to Sky Sports recently about the United fixture, talking about the fixture between “two biggest teams” in England and called it a “special game”.

Liverpool would hope to play like they did last season against their North-West rivals, wherein they scored nine past United across the two league fixtures. After Old Trafford, Liverpool play back-to-back home games against Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
