Liverpool star Mohamed Salah talks about scoring against Manchester United

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, speaking to Premier League productions in an interview (h/t Liverpool Echo) talked about scoring against arch-rivals Manchester United.

Last season saw a revelation in Mohamed Salah, who won the Premier League golden boot and was also the top-assist provider. 23 goals and 14 assists to the Egyptian’s credit in a season Liverpool narrowly missed out on winning the league to Manchester City.

Speaking ahead of the Manchester United derby at Old Trafford, he also shed light on “small details” that he believed to create a difference.

Ahead of the United fixture, he spoke about how it is a big game and he’s “excited” to face Liverpool’s rivals.

“It’s a big game and I’m always excited about the game. Two years ago everybody was saying, ‘you never scored against United ’, so life changed.”

It took Salah five fixtures before he first scored against United. He has not stopped since and scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford last season before following it up with a brace in the reverse fixture.

All in all, the Egyptian King has scored seven goals and made two assists in nine Premier League appearances vs The Red Devils. He also spoke about how the primary goal in mind is to help the team win games and get points, something he does on a consistent basis.

“But it’s always like this in my mind: I’m trying to score goals to help the team win games and get points – that’s the most important thing.”

Salah recently penned down a long-term deal with the club, He will be eager to face United and replicate the results the Reds had the last time they had been to Old Trafford.
