Injury Update: Jurgen Klopp gives the latest on Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp provides Harvey Elliott injury update

In Liverpool’s recent thumping of AFC Bournemouth 9-0, Jurgen Klopp substituted Harvey Elliott for Fabio Carvalho at halftime. The Englishman was limping toward the bench before the restart. Gaffer Jurgen Klopp provided updates on the 19-year-old and briefed the press on his situation. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

The stroke of halftime saw Elliott limping back towards the tunnel. He was instrumental in the Reds’ quick start to the game, linking up play with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah on the right flank. Harvey was the second on Liverpool’s scoresheet for the night, scoring a beautiful curler from the edge of the box.

Klopp talked about Elliott’s performance and furthermore, gave an update on his injury situation. Luckily for the player and the supporters, the issue does not seem to be huge and he “should be fine” according to the gaffer.

“Harvey felt just a little bit. In no other game we would take him off but when 5-0 up, we thought if that’s not the moment, then the moment will never come again.

“Nothing after the game. The assessment is good. He should be completely fine.”

Liverpool midfield situation

At this instant, Liverpool can not possibly see another midfielder getting injured. Presently, the Reds see most of their midfielders sidelined owing to injury. The Reds are without the services of Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain. Furthermore, Naby Keita also suffered an injury very recently, just prior to the Manchester United game.

The Reds had to react after the abysmal performance against their arch-rivals United, and they responded extremely well to do great against Bournemouth. Elliott, before he was taken off was extremely good in his performance as well.

Fabio Carvalho, who replaced his mate, was also good on the pitch. He eventually went on to score his first goal for the Reds, from a wonderful cushioned ball from Konstantinos Tsimikas.
