The youngster recently turned 20 and Bobby was apparently aware of the youngster’s skillset before he wore the red colours of Liverpool. He scored his first goal for Liverpool in the 9-0 thumping of Bournemouth.
Lately, he was doing the headlines after scoring the 98th-minute winner against Newcastle United at Anfield. The former Fulham man started his first game for Liverpool against Everton but had to come off at the 45-minute mark owing to an injury.
He has impressed in the seven appearances he has had until now. Bobby has gone on and called him a star and a “great player”. The Reds signed him on for a fee of £5m +2.7m in addons.
“He’s a great player. I confess that I had watched some of his games before he came to Liverpool, so I was already impressed by the way he played.”
Fine Fabio’s Form
The Portuguese international has been one of Liverpool’s brightest sparks this season, alongside Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz. The 20-year-old has evidently carried on his form from last season, wherein he scored 11 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances for Fulham.
The West London club gained promotion to the Premier League and Carvalho’s contribution obviously came in more than just handy. He was also named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign.
His character can help Liverpool a lot according to Firmino who believes that his goal contributions will also support the Reds.
“He’s a star, he’s a great player and now he’s also a very close friend. We are happy to have him here at Liverpool and I know he will help us a lot, with assists, goals and also his character on the pitch.”
Bobby has rightly identified Carvalho as a player whose presence can contribute positively to Liverpool’s growth as a team and hopefully the young stars can supply to the Reds’ expansion.
