Transfer News: Liverpool and Real Madrid target could consider another option in 2023

Liverpool target Jude Bellingham could end up staying at Borussia Dortmund for one more year

Borussia Dortmund midfielder and England sensation Jude Bellingham has the words on his feet with his impressive showings with the German outfit.

His rise from plying his trade in the Championship with Birmingham City to leading Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League at just 19 years of age is just exemplary.

Many speculate Bellingham to have a big money switch come to the next summer transfer window with Liverpool and Real Madrid seen as favourites to land the teenager as of now.

Jurgen Klopp is particularly keen to add the teenager to his ranks which was partly the reason that the club did not invest big in a midfielder this transfer window with plans to go all out for Bellingham in the next transfer window, with the player having a little under three years

left on his contract.

However, according to Sky Sports correspondent Kevin Hatchard (h/t Express), it is still a big possibility that the midfielder ends up staying at Signal Iduna Park for another season. Bellingham has shown a very mature and complete understanding of the game with Dortmund manager Edin Terzic declaring him the “oldest under-19 player he has ever seen”.

Even Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola showed his praise for the ever-evolving teenager and what he has established at such a young age.

Barcelona’s Gavi winning the Golden Boy award evidently drew criticism considering Bellingham has given much more impactful performances in the period and many regard him as the most talented teenager in Europe currently.

The player and his entourage are aware that there would not be a shortage of suitors for the player who has already notched 17

international caps for England and is heavily touted to be part of the 26-man squad that travels to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup in November.

Taking into account that the player is considering staying another year with Dortmund shows his mature stance on not preferring his development over a big-money move. That, or he may think that BVB have what it takes to fight it out for domestic and European titles in the near future.

Bellingham will undoubtedly be one of the most complete midfielders in the coming years and whichever team ends up acquiring his services would be signing a true talent around whom the team can be built.
