Leeds United’s Jack Harrison expresses surprise at the performance of Liverpool

Speaking to his club’s official website, Leeds United winger Jack Harrison ahead of the Midlands club’s league fixture against Liverpool said that the Reds’ form in the league was definitely a surprise for him.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have failed to register a win away from home in domestic fixtures this season. They have won only four games out of 11 so far, and are presently sitting in the eighth position on the Premier League table.

Last weekend Liverpool lost their game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground despite going into it as overwhelming favourites. A win against Ajax Amsterdam followed but the inconsistency shown in the league raises questions.

Here is what Harrison told Leeds’ website (h/t Liverpool Echo) about Liverpool’s form:

“It was definitely a surprise. You look at the squad and the team they’ve got, I don’t have to say anything really. It’s going to be difficult. I think you can expect a difficult game against them regardless of their previous result and we know we have to give everything.”

Harrison is bang-on regarding his comments on Liverpool. With the squad that we have at our disposal, it is a shame that we are even losing games this season, let alone the way we are doing so. Klopp takes a lot of pride in the players and it is time they proved him right.

Moreover, the lapse in form has been very surprising given how the Reds played all possible games last season, won two of four trophies, reached the UEFA Champions League final, and also took the Premier League title battle to the last day.

More so, Liverpool have had much tougher times in the past, and have time and again defied the odds. Klopp is probably the only person who can help sort this mess of a league situation right now and hopefully, Liverpool finish the season better than they have started it.
