“I’m not impressed by him. I can do what he does”- Cameroon striker slams Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah once again

Vincent Aboubakar continues to talk smack about Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah

Al-Nassr FC’s Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar seems to have a passionate obsession with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

. Time and again, the former FC Porto man insists that the Egyptian is not a good player in different ways.

The 30-year-old centre-forward has only two goals from eight appearances in the Saudi Pro League this season. At the same age, Mo is turning the defences of Manchester City and Napoli, arguably among the best teams in Europe inside out.

Since Salah’s move to Liverpool from Roma in 2017, no other player has scored more goals than him in the English top tier. Moreover, he has won three golden boots during his second spell in the league, the first being with Chelsea under Jose Mourinho from 2014-2016.

Here is what Aboubakar had to say about Mo via the Daily Mail:

“I’m not impressed by him. I can do what he does. I just don’t have the opportunity to play in a big club.”

The fact that Aboubakar has not got the opportunity to play in a big club speaks level in itself. He would have if he was good enough as Salah. The striker has played one game against Liverpool during his time at FC Porto.

During his time at the Portuguese club, Liverpool have faced Porto four times and Aboubakar was in the squad for these matches only once. In the 2017/18 UCL, the teams met each other in the Last 16 leg and the Cameroonian failed to get past the Reds’ backline.

No one would be surprised if Salah was not affected by these words. The Egyptian’s record speaks for him. Two-time African Player of the Year, PFA Player of the Year last season and in 2017-18 and these are just a few of his individual accolades. There is literally nothing left for Salah to prove, and that too to a fellow footballer, who cannot seem to digest the success of his African compatriot.

Salah would be eager to outperform himself this season and is looking in good form this time around as well. In 20 games this season, he has 14 goals and five assists. Hopefully, he will add to it in the coming months.
