Boost for Liverpool as 18-year-old target’s agents are pushing for Premier League transfer

Liverpool receive Youssoufa Moukoko boost as agent pushes for Premier League move

In what could be a major boost for Liverpool, The Mirror reports that the representatives of Borussia Dortmund teenager Youssoufa Moukoko are pushing for a move to England and Liverpool are obviously in the reckoning as well.

According to a report from The Athletic (Subscription Required), the agents of the 18-year-old German international are wanting a Premier League move for the player for a prolonged period of time, and the Reds emerge as natural candidates as the Merseysiders stand in the reckoning for the player for a long time now.

Even though there are no actual agreements between any parties, Moukoko can head towards the L4 and Anfield and rock Liverpool Red next season at the end of his current deal at Die Schwarzbelgen. (Transfermarkt)

The German was a part of Joachim Low’s side for the World Cup wherein his country could shockingly not progress through to the Round of 16 and stood a Group Stage elimination. However, in 59 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions, he has 11 goals and eight assists.

He could prove to be a long-term replacement for Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino, whose current deal also lasts until the next summer. But an extension could be on the cards for him after his solid performances for the Reds this season.

Liverpool, apart from Firmino, have Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota to play similar roles in attack as well. There is no absolute need for reinforcing the attack, and if Liverpool really want to get their hands on a player from Borussia Dortmund, look no beyond Jude Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko is on Liverpool’s radar.

Nevertheless, Moukoko is a player for the future, and he is showing all the signs of a bright future during his spell with the Bundesliga giants. Hopefully, the opportunity to sign him comes for Liverpool at a later stage as well.

It will, however, be interesting to see where he will fit if we do sign him considering we made a big investment in another young striker, Nunez, just this summer. However, the German striker is a player that can command a place in the starting XI if he continues to develop on this trajectory.
