Domino’s Pizza poke fun at Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez for his misses against Brentford

Club News: Domino’s Pizza have mocked Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez for his misses against Brentford

Domino’s Pizza have brutally mocked Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez after the Uruguayan striker missed multiple chances throughout the game against Brentford, as the Reds were humbled to a 3-1 loss.

Nunez, who joined the Merseyside club for £85 million in the summer from SL Benfica has had a turbulent start here and was very poor against the west London side on Monday as the Reds lost their fifth league game of the season.

The striker missed multiple sitters throughout the game and famous pizza-chain Domino’s brutally mocked the 23-year-old after posting this on their Twitter handle with an image of the striker(h/t Daily Mail

):

“Sorry if we’ve missed any orders tonight, we’ve just had this guy start.”

While it was absolutely brutal from the fast-food chain, Nunez did have a really poor game. His most surprising miss of the match came in the first half when he rounded goalkeeper David Raya but then hit his shot straight at Ben Mee who blocked his shot on the line.

And one can’t really blame them as well considering companies need to have smart marketing ploys to stay relevant and boost their popularity. What better way to do it than put Liverpool in the picture?

His evening went from bad to worse after he missed out on multiple chances to bring us level and even take us in the lead, but he failed to convert any of them. He did find the back of the net at the start of the second-half, but saw his goal ruled out for offside.

This is not his first chaotic performance. He has been delivering such performances for most of the season and especially after the World Cup in the games against Manchester City and Leicester City earlier this month.

Nunez has been a regular for Jurgen Klopp this season, featuring in 22 games so far in all competitions. He has however managed to only score nine goals in the process and his poor form in front of goal has cost us dearly this season.

It remains to be seen if the striker can find the back of the net anytime soon. He is just 23 and has a long career ahead of him. Once he finds his ground, there is no doubt that he would be an unstoppable force but that has to be sooner rather than later, before the pressure keeps mounting on him.
