Liverpool have offered Jude Bellingham a chance to become the next Steven Gerrard

According to German journalist of Sky Sport DE Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have offered Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham a chance to become the next Steven Gerrard at the club.

It is also revealed that while the Liverpool bosses are confident of signing the England international, there have been no offers made and Jurgen Klopp has not spoken to the player yet.

We all know that along with the Reds, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea are also in the race

to sign the young midfielder. It would be a massive tug of war come the summer transfer window.

It is interesting to know that Liverpool are giving Bellingham the promise to make him the next Gerrard. The 20-year-old is a big fan of the former Reds great and he considers him an idol.

What Gerrard achieved during his time at Anfield, along with carrying the team at times and being a leader, would be tough for anyone to follow in those footsteps.

But, what Bellingham has shown so far in a Dortmund and an England shirt, there are signs of becoming the Three Lions’ next Stevie G.

Let’s be clear that if this transfer race comes down to money, Liverpool stand very little chance to compete with City, Madrid and Chelsea.

But, if the player is actually keen on a move to Anfield irrespective of the finances involved and becomes a great here, that would show the passion he has for the game. After the Premier League title win in 2020, Virgil van Dijk talked about how special it is to win things for Liverpool compared to anyone in the world.
