Liverpool star Mohamed Salah says Darwin Nunez will score a lot of goals

After the Reds’ recent 2-0 win against Everton in the Premier League, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah spoke about how Darwin Nunez will get a lot of goals for the Reds in the future. The 23-year-old Uruguayan assisted Mo’s opener against the Toffees but is yet to get a goal for the Reds after the World Cup restart.

During Monday’s game, the two Liverpool attackers worked together effectively, creating a chance for each other on average every 52 minutes, as reported by the statisticians at Opta. Salah’s comments reflect a sense of optimism about Nunez’s future and his ability to make a significant contribution to Liverpool’s success.

Only in his first year playing in English football, Nunez often stands mocked by both pundits and opposing fans, mainly because he has missed several excellent chances to score. However, Darwin has shown tremendous game presence by often trying to find his teammates and create chances for them.

Here is what Salah told Sky Sports via The Mirror on Darwin’s ability to make the constant runs and showed confidence in him that he will eventually find the goals as well:

“I train with Darwin so I know his stride,”

“I know how he likes to play, when we counter attack we just go. We did it a few times against Napoli, a few times against [Manchester] City, so I know how he plays, and I’m sure this guy is going to score a lot of goals. Once he just starts scoring them, he will score a lot of goals.”

Salah’s comments suggest that he has observed Nunez’s style of play and believes that it is well-suited to Liverpool’s attacking strategy. This knowledge of his teammate’s abilities may also reflect a level of camaraderie and team spirit, as Salah shows support for Nunez as a fellow member of the squad.

Nunez may need some time to settle into the team and get going at full throttle, but Salah’s comments could also mean that once Darwin has gained some momentum, he will be able to score consistently. It also highlights the importance of confidence and momentum in a striker’s ability to perform well.

Hopefully, this partnership slowly but surely results in a large number of goals for Liverpool in the near future and beyond. Both players could be devastating on the counter and could use their pace to unsettle defenders.
