Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia completely focused on the Italian giants amid Liverpool interest
Liverpool FC’s search for new attacking options has led them to stand linked with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. However, according to his agent, the winger’s complete focus is on his current club, and he is not considering a move to the Premier League.
Kvaratskhelia has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe with his impressive performances for Napoli this season. The 22-year-old Georgian has been one of the standout performers in Serie A, with 11 goals and 14 assists in 23 appearances for the Italian giants.
Liverpool have reportedly been monitoring Kvaratskhelia’s progress and are considering making a move for him in the summer transfer window. However, the player’s agent recently stated that his client stands fully committed to Napoli and has no plans to move away at the moment.
While this news may come as a disappointment for the Reds, it may not necessarily be a bad thing, as the club already has plenty of attacking options at their disposal which includes the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
Do Liverpool need Kvara?
Therefore, while a new attacker would certainly add more depth to the squad, it is not necessarily a pressing need for Liverpool at the moment. Furthermore, Liverpool has other areas of the squad that require more urgent attention, such as the midfield positions.
The injuries to key players like Thiago Alcantara have left the team thin in the middle. Moreover, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have been extremely inconsistent this season and a new signing in that area could be a priority for the Reds in the upcoming transfer window.
In short, while the news that Kvaratskhelia is not looking for a move away from Napoli may be disappointing for Liverpool, it is not necessarily a major setback for the club.
