Liverpool target Mason Mount is interested in reuniting with Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
According to the Guardian, Liverpool target and Chelsea star Mason Mount is interested in reuniting with Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
Tuchel was appointed as the new Bayern boss a few days ago following the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann. We all know that the German’s previous job was at Stamford Bridge.
Mount has played under him and did very well, including the Champions League success in 2021. So, we can imagine why he wants to work with his former boss again.
The England international’s contract at Chelsea expires in 2024, with no advancements on the new deal talks with the Blues.
Liverpool have been in the race to sign him for some time now. They are, at the moment, rated as ‘favourites’ to snap the 24-year-old up in the summer.
Juventus are also interested in Mount, while Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation.
The report reveals that because Chelsea do not want him to leave for free next season, they would want to sell him now. They are hoping to get at least £50m for this sale.
We can see why Liverpool are interested in the player. He is an extremely talented attacking midfielder with great technical abilities married up with an excellent work rate off the ball.
If we sign him, Jurgen Klopp may play him as one of the number eights. The Englishman also offers the versatility of being used as a forward too.

So, before Bayern make their move, let’s hope that Liverpool are ahead in the race for this transfer. With our midfield needing major surgery, only targeting and/or potentially getting Jude Bellingham won’t be enough. Players like Mount add quality and leadership to the squad.
