RB Salzburg name their price tag for Liverpool midfield target Luka Sucic

According to Salzburger Nachrichten (h/t Liverpool Echo), RB Salzburg have named a price tag of around £17m for midfielder Luka Sucic amidst links with Liverpool.

The Croatian international, whose contract with the Austrian champions runs until the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt), could leave them in the coming summer.

The report states that Liverpool are interested in him. Newcastle United have also been suggested as a potential destination for the 20-year-old.

The former Liefering midfielder has played 25 times for Salzburg in all competitions, assisting four goals. He is an attacking midfielder who can operate on the left-hand side or as a central midfielder.

Liverpool are expected to undergo a major overhaul of the midfield department in the coming summer. They have been linked with a host of midfielders, including Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Moises Caicedo. They have a concrete interest in Alexis Mac Allister too.

It remains to be seen how Jurgen Klopp and his staff would plan the squad turnover in the next few months. The German sounded positive about the talks that happened regarding player signing during the international break.

If we talk about Sucic, he is a bright young player with excellent passing ability, great pace and dribbling skills and works hard off the ball. He has that fighting spirit in him, which we can relate to most Croatian players of the current generation.

For the price tag quoted above, the 20-year-old would be a low-risk move for Liverpool. But, is Klopp looking at other ready-made Premier League-proven players to start the renaissance next season? We wait and see to find out the answer to that.
