Liverpool are interested in signing Aurien Tchouameni from Real Madrid

According to El Nacional (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are interested in signing Aurien Tchouameni from Real Madrid, a year after missing out on his signature.

The Frenchman has established himself as one of the rising stars of world football and a key figure in the French national team, relishing in the absence of Paul Pogba.

Domestically, he had a great start to his Madrid career but post World-Cup, he has somehow failed to replicate the same form and has fallen down the pecking order.

Now, it is claimed that the move has not fallen according to expectations and Los Blancos might be looking to cut their losses short in the summer.

The midfielder was brought in on a huge fee and it would be seen as a huge loss if so much money is spent on a player who is mostly making appearances off the bench.

This has presented a unique opportunity for Jurgen Klopp, who would be keen on signing the player having previously registered strong interest while still plying his trade at AS Monaco.

It is clear as day that the Liverpool midfield needs a reinvigoration and Tchouameni provides us with the exact type of profile currently missing in the team.

At the same time, it is important for us to consider that a deal concerning Jude Bellingham could go either way and hence having second options is always more beneficial.

More Liverpool News:

Tchouameni, though not fully settled in the Spanish capital, could provide a like-for-like substitute to Jude Bellingham and with more professional football experience under his belt, he could turn out to be a shrewd signing.

In a season that has been nothing but disappointment, the summer transfer window and potential incoming are the only things worth looking for in the coming future.
