Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister could leave Brighton next summer

World Cup-winning Argentine Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton and Hove Albion is among the Liverpool transfer targets for the summer. The 24-year-old’s father, who also acts like his agent, spoke about the future of the player and talked about how he could leave the Sussex-based outfit.

With the recent news of the Reds opting out of the race for Jude Bellingham, Liverpool’s links interest in other midfielders has gained much traction. Mac Allister is surely among those given his performances for club and country of late.

His contract with the Seagulls expires in 2025 (Transfermarkt) and amid rumours of an exit, his father had a few words to say about Mac Allister’s future amid not much clarity on the player’s future and next club.

Here is what he had to say via ECHO:

“Normally the next transfer window will find him playing for another institution”,

“We don’t know which one, we are just starting talks in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will be playing for another team next July.”

Could Mac Allister to the Reds?

This is surely something that would get the Reds excited. A proper #10 who is obviously great in terms of creative output, the player is not a bad shout defensively as he has shown great versatility in his style of play.

In 29 appearances across all competitions this season, Mac Allister has ten goals and two assists to boot. He is one of the most active players in the Premier League in terms of pressuring opponents.

Mac Allister is a great example of intensity and makes it difficult for attackers. His tactical awareness helps him position himself for tackles and blocks, allowing him to intercept the ball frequently and start counterattacks.

Recent reports from The Guardian spoke about how Brighton will set their value of the player once interest from Liverpool stands confirmed. Hopefully, the Reds get on board a player of his quality as it is certainly the need of the hour at the Merseyside club.

While it is a disappointment that the Reds do not want to pursue Jude Bellingham any more, fans can take comfort in the fact that Liverpool could get on board one of the Premier League’s finest talents at the moment in Mac Allister.
