Liverpool among the clubs tracking the progress of Lyon winger Bradley Barcola

As per a tweet from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are among the clubs tracking the progress of talented young Lyon winger Bradley Barcola.

Several European clubs are keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old who has been with the Lyon setup since his very young days.

The French U21 international has got seven goals and four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.

The Liverpool scouts are tracking his development. He is a left winger who can operate on the other side or as a number nine as well. If we talk about his attributes, Barcola possesses exceptional pace, good dribbling skills and has a decent shot in him.

Although the 20-year-old is a great young talent with a potentially bright future, Liverpool would do well by not looking to sign him this summer.

The Reds are well stocked in the forward department after the signatures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo in the last 15 months. There is Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah in the mix too.

Having seen the midfield capitulate on a weekly basis this season, it would be sensible to sign at least players to bolster that particular department.

The mood isn’t helped by the fact that the club has withdrawn their interest in long-term target Jude Bellingham as they think he is too expensive. As if they did not have an idea of how much the Englishman would potentially cost. Naivety at its best.

Let’s not focus on unnecessary wastage of money on a player that may not be used much anyway next season with the resources we have up front.
