Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes
According to Fichajes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes as the key cog in his midfield rebuild.
The Reds have an ageing midfield and are in immense need of a revamp. The upcoming summer transfer window presents Klopp with the ideal opportunity to strengthen his roster.
Liverpool in recent years have earmarked certain players to fit their system and this summer is the same. The man on their radar is Guimaraes, who is a key cog in Newcastle United’s rise up the table.
The 25-year-old is in the prime of his career and has transformed Eddie Howe’s side. Klopp is sold on the idea of bringing him to Anfield and there is little argument that the Brazilian will add energy to this Reds’ outfit.
Liverpool could test Newcastle’s resolve with a €100m offer but even if the Reds cough up the money, it remains far from certain that they will sell. With middle east backing, the Magpies will be a force to be reckoned with and Guimaraes is largely a key cog in that plan.
An excellent dribbler and tackler, the Brazilian is a bundle of energy in the middle of the park. He should settle in well at Anfield and should thrive in the club’s high-metal football setup.
He also takes a mean shot and will contribute to goals from the midfield. Guimaraes has what it takes to be a Jurgen Klopp hit and it is clear to see why the German boss admires him and wants to make him the side’s midfield centrepiece.
Given Fabinho’s slump in recent months and the lack of another No. 6 at his disposal, it makes sense for Klopp to go after the 25-year-old Brazil international. Let’s hope we qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season to solidify our case of signing because the Magpies seem set to finish in the top four.

Guimaraes is a world-class player and will only get better. The question that needs to be asked is why the Reds failed to land him last summer when he was still at Lyon. Liverpool were well aware of the Brazilian’s talent and should have moved on to him after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni. If anything, we only have ourselves to blame.
