Jurgen Klopp reveals the gift Liverpool gave Alisson after 100 clean sheets milestone in Brentford win

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool gave Alisson Becker a specialised shirt after he reached the milestone of keeping 100 clean sheets across competitions for the Reds in their 1-0 win against Brentford.

The Brazilian shot-stopper didn’t have to make Hollywood saves but was solid in between the sticks, often helping the Reds stave off danger with his composure and awareness.

This season, he has been pretty busy for us and has still been one of our best and most consistent players. He moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2018 from AS Roma.

He has proven to be worth every penny Klopp and co. invested in him. Since then, the 30-year-old has amassed 100 clean sheets across competitions – one cannot even begin to think where we would be without him.

Brilliant Alisson achieves huge milestone

It was only after his arrival that Liverpool won every major trophy football had to offer at club level. What a signing. Jurgen Klopp loves him as much as any Reds fan and revealed the club had a gift ready for Alisson on his milestone.

The German manager told BBC MOTD after the win at the Vitality Stadium:

“I gave him a shirt, we had a shirt prepared for him and I said this is for 100 lifesaving saves this season. His performances speak for themselves. If you know him, he is a better person than a goalie and that is already difficult. I cant wait to see the next 100.”

Clean sheets and stats aside, Alisson is one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever goalkeepers, period. There has hardly ever been a more complete player guarding our goal.

Not to mention, the Brazil international also does the basics of his job to near perfection. He is still 30 and has a lot of years ahead of him. His contract doesn’t expire before June 2027 (Transfermarkt). Perfect situation for the club.
