19-year-old Liverpool target set to reject contract from Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is set to reject a contract offer from Borussia Dortmund

According to Liverpool Echo, 19-year-old Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is set to reject a new contract offer from Borussia Dortmund with the midfielder in line for a big-money move.

Bellingham was one of the primary targets for Liverpool in the coming window but according to Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo), he is set to move to Real Madrid.

While news of Liverpool dropping out of the race due to the huge fee involved, it seems like Madrid have taken the leap and are set to sign the talented prodigy.

It is still not certain the England midfielder will move to Spain and it would be wrong to completely rule us out.

Liverpool have been touted to enter the upcoming window in search of midfield options and plans to accelerate on other targets have already started taking place.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is one such target and it seems to be hotting up with contacts already being initiated with the Argentine’s representatives.

In the coming weeks, links with many more players will circulate and a route back to the UEFA Champions League would certainly attract a better pool.

With one point off Manchester United and three points off Newcastle United, there is still a very big chance that we are able to finish in the top four. It is important we are in the competition to keep attracting big names.

It also contributes to the revenue stream of the club. After all, Liverpool have supposedly been scared of Bellingham’s potential price tag, which is a shame, because what else have been saving for all these windows when we didn’t sign a world-class midfielder?
