Liverpool interest in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone “real and big”
Liverpool FC’s pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone is gaining momentum.
That is according to Sport BILD via Liverpool ECHO. The German news outlet reports that the Reds’ interest in the 22-year-old is both “real and big,” indicating their strong intentions to secure his signature.
The Reds’ initial inquiry about Manu Kone‘s availability took place before the appointment of their new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke. The German has a strong knowledge of the Bundesliga and could prove to be instrumental in Kone moving to Merseysiders.
Kone could also cos the Reds up to £38million, which isn’t a bad valuation for a player of his age and with his ceiling. Securing Kone’s signature would be a significant boost for Liverpool’s midfield options.
The 22-year-old has impressed with his performances for Borussia Monchengladbach, showcasing his technical ability, vision, and versatility in midfield as he is capable of playing all roles in midfield.
Bringing in Kone would not only add depth and quality to Liverpool’s midfield but also provide competition for places and further enhance the team’s performance levels. Kone’s potential arrival would strengthen a depleted midfield that certainly needs some refurbishing.
Should a deal be reached, it would be an exciting addition to the club’s summer transfer business with a number of other midfielders on the Reds’ radar as well.
With the backing of a passionate fanbase and a manager like Klopp, the Reds certainly continue to attract top talents and establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in domestic and European competitions. It is on the owners to back the manager.

The Reds’ central midfield, at the moment, is bleak mainly due to a number of outgoings that include that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita. The need for a number of midfielders at the club is absolutely real and the Reds should try and get at least three players over the summer.
