“May be plans”- Bundesliga ace on Liverpool’s radar opens up on summer plans

Bayern star Ryan Gravenberch opens up about his future amid Liverpool links

He’s among the top names who see themselves linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer, and amid a lack of game-time at Bayern Munich, Ryan Gravenberch recently spoke about his future while on national duty with The Netherlands.

The former Ajax man, who joined Bavaria only last summer, has only managed to gather 938 playing minutes across 33 appearances (whoscored), which roughly comes down to only nine games. The 21-year-old has one goal and an assist as well. Speaking on what the future holds for him, here is what Gravenberch told De Telegraaf via ECHO:

“There may be plans with me. I haven’t really spoken to the trainer about that yet, that will come after the European Championship when I’m back from Georgia and Romania. Then we’ll see how things are.”

While his comments surely add fuel to the fire of speculation, Liverpool should truly explore the opportunity of bringing the Dutchman to Anfield. His range of passing for his age is among the best in the world, probably second only to Pedri but Gravenberch to Liverpool sits just right.

He has immense potential, and at Bayern, we really cannot see him prosper only because manager Thomas Tuchel is spoilt for options and thereby, unknowingly hampering the Dutchman’s growth as a professional.

Do we need Gravenberch?

At Liverpool though, we are in dire straits when it comes to the midfield situation. Following the departure of a few key figures, and the growing average age of the squad, we could do ourselves a world of good by getting on board young midfielders with immense potential.

We do not have a lot of options when it comes to midfielders who play on the left. Following the addition of Alexis Mac Allister, we have a total of three players who like to play on that side that includes Thiago and Curtis Jones.

A very able box-to-box player, Liverpool should ideally be all over the idea of having him on board as he is among the best youngsters in the world in that role.

Hopefully, we choose the best of what is available to us and enable the club to challenge for and win silverware next season and beyond.

Two things for us to note here. Given Gravenberch’s quality, other clubs could surely try their best to get his signature. And he is yet to speak to his manager about his future. Hopefully, we take this opportunity to try and put in a bid to lure him to Anfield.
