Alexis Mac Allister claims Liverpool are the Boca Juniors of England

South American football fans are famous for their over-the-top levels of enthusiasm and passion for the game which people all around the football fraternity look at and appreciate. Boca Juniors of Argentina are one of the biggest clubs in the world and Alexis Mac Allister had a loan spell there.

His emergence at Boca meant that Brighton cut short his loan deal and flew him back to the Amex and from then, there was no looking back for Alexis Mac Allister. His performances for the Seagulls and Argentina earned him a move to Liverpool, and comparing Anfield to Boca, here is what Mac Allister told ESPN’s SportsCenter

“I had to play twice at Anfield and any player you talk to tells you that it’s crazy how people encourage,”

“Within England, they’re the closest thing to the people of Boca. That also counts and is very important. That’s why I said that Liverpool are the Boca of England. I really want to start playing there.”
