Mohamed Salah talks about outgoing Liverpool star Roberto Firmino

Liverpool FC’s attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane has long stood hailed as one of the most formidable in modern-day football.

With the departure of Firmino this summer, the club’s new LFC Original documentary ‘Bobby’ pays tribute to the Brazilian forward, shedding light on the deep bond between him and Salah after Mane also departed the Reds a season prior to Bobby. Here is what Mo had to say on Bobby:

“I know his quality; he’s one of the best to play for Liverpool. He is able to do everything in a game and sacrifice himself for the team.”

“I think he’s been loved the most. Everyone likes him, he’s really calm and always smiling and when you see someone sacrificing themselves for the team, you see that everyone loves him here.”

The Egyptian winger also expressed how their connection felt instant even before they stepped on the pitch together, emphasizing the strong rapport that stood forged from the start. They have obviously shared a lot of goals (25) between them for the club as well, and their bond surely goes beyond the pitch.

The documentary serves as a testament to Firmino’s impact at Liverpool, with Salah acknowledging his extraordinary qualities. Salah proclaimed Firmino as one of the best to ever don the iconic red jersey, highlighting his ability to excel in all aspects of the game and selflessly sacrifice himself for the team’s greater good.

Firmino’s versatility, work rate, and team-oriented mentality have earned him immense admiration from both his teammates and the Liverpool faithful.

Beyond the supporters, Firmino’s affable nature and contagious smile have endeared him to everyone who has worked with him at the club. Salah echoed this sentiment, emphasizing how universally loved Firmino is within the Liverpool family.

A proper embodiment of the club’s style of play under Jurgen Klopp, Firmino, will not only remain missed as a player but as an individual as well, who has given so much to the club over his stay at Merseyside.

While Firmino’s departure marks the end of an era for Liverpool, the legacy of the Salah-Mane-Firmino partnership will forever be etched in the club’s history. Their intuitive understanding on the pitch, complemented by Mane’s electrifying presence, certainly created a relentless attacking force that propelled Liverpool to unprecedented success.

The departure of a player as influential as Firmino undoubtedly leaves a void, but it also opens up new possibilities for Liverpool to evolve and further strengthen their attacking prowess in the form of talents like Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.
