Marc Kosicke weighs in on whether Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is Germany bound

Agent of Jurgen Klopp dismisses claims that the Liverpool boss will manage Germany

The agent of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Marc Kosicke, has dismissed reports linking him with a move to manage Germany.

A couple of days ago, German outlet Bild called for Klopp to take over the national team job ahead of the Euros at home next summer.

The Liverpool boss is generally not a person who would leave sporting projects in between, especially when he signed

a new contract with the Reds in the latter half of the 2021/22 season.

Here’s what his agent Kosicke said when asked about the future of his client at Anfield (h/t Liverpool Echo, via Bild):

“Jurgen has a long-term contract with the LFC and the DFB has a national coach. So it’s not an issue for us at all.”

Although we would not expect Klopp to leave the club right in the middle of a project, the quote from his agent just reassures any doubts.

After an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign, the German must come out all guns blazing in the pre-season to get the Liverpool squad gelling well and starting the next season on a positive note.

With no Champions League football, the boss can focus on building a team that can last a potential title challenge in addition to winning a silverware or two.

For all that to happen, the Reds have to be smart in the transfer market and make some clever signings.

They have done one by getting Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion. Things have gone quiet since that transfer was announced.

Let’s hope that the club is working on deals behind the scenes and we get to see the results of that very soon. The pre-season starts on the 8th of July. Signing players before that might be helpful.

For now, any fears of Klopp leaving Liverpool are allayed. That should come with a slight sense of relief.
