Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson given the green light for Al Ettifaq switch

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gives the green light to Jordan Henderson to join Al Ettifaq

Veteran Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has accepted a proposal from Al Ettifaq, and there is an agreement in principle, albeit verbal, for a potential move this summer.

The deal is now contingent upon discussions between Liverpool and Al Ettifaq to determine the appropriate fee. These revelations come from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via Twitter. While it may come as a shock to see Henderson potentially leaving, it is important to note that he had a conversation with manager Jurgen Klopp today, and the gaffer gave him the ‘Green Light’ for further conversations over the move.

“Hendo spoke to Klopp today and there’s green light.”

“Jordan Henderson has accepted Al Ettifaq proposal. There’s an agreement in principle, still verbal. Contract agreed. Deal now depends on Liverpool and Al Ettifaq discussing on the fee, no chance to let him leave for free.”

This suggests that there is mutual understanding and respect between Henderson and the club, allowing the process to move forward. As the captain of Liverpool, he has been an influential figure both on and off the pitch, embodying the club’s values and leading the team to numerous successes.

As negotiations progress between Liverpool and Al Ettifaq, fans must trust that the club will handle the situation in a manner that befits the significance of Henderson’s contributions and status within the team.

Hendo to the Middle East?

It is unlikely that Liverpool would allow their captain to leave for free, given his leadership qualities, international pedigree, and the fact that he still has two years remaining on his contract.

File reports from Romano were suggestive of the fact that the Reds remain adamant on a £10m fee for their skipper, but honestly, he’s worth much more than that to the club.

Growing interest in Jordan Henderson from Saudi Arabia.

While the potential departure of Henderson may evoke mixed emotions among fans, it is crucial to consider the circumstances surrounding the transfer.

A player in the twilight of his career, with possibly no longer than a season or two left at the top of his game, it makes sense for him to earn the big cheque towards the fag end of his playing days.

The impending departure of Henderson should not overshadow the incredible impact he has made during his time at Liverpool. His leadership, determination, and commitment to the club will forever be etched in the history books as he won all trophies possible during his time at the club.
