Saudi giants plot £40m bid for veteran Liverpool star

Al-Ittihad ‘set to make’ bid for Liverpool star Fabinho

Saudi club Al Ittihad show interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Fabinho and are set to make a bid for the Liverpool #3. This revelation has sparked discussions among Liverpool fans regarding the future of the Brazilian in the squad.

That is as per The Athletic. They write that the Saudi club will approach Liverpool with a £40m sum for the 29-year-old who has a contract on Merseyside until 2026 (Transfermarkt).

Admittedly, Fabinho had a challenging season and struggled to find his best form. However, it is important to remember that even the best players can experience dips in performance. It would be hasty to write off the former Monaco man based on one season alone.

Al-Ittihad ‘set to make’ bid for Liverpool star Fabinho.

The decision to potentially sell Fabinho should not be taken lightly. Certain aspects of his game, such as his defensive prowess and ability to break up opposition play, have made him a valuable asset for Liverpool in the past.

However, it is worth considering the financial aspect of the situation. As the saying goes, “There’s a price for everything.” If Al Ittihad were to present a substantial offer for Fabinho, the club may need to assess whether it aligns with their long-term plans and if that money could find itself reinvested in strengthening other areas of the squad.

While Fabinho has been an integral part of Liverpool’s midfield, the Reds have other players on their radar, such as Romeo Lavia from Southampton, who can fill the defensive midfield role.

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is subject to transfer interest from Saudi club Al Ittihad.

While Fabinho’s potential departure may raise concerns among fans, it is important to trust in the club’s decision-making process. We know that there are a few ‘unsellable’ players in our team after our assessment of last season, and to put it in a brutally honest fashion, Fabinho is not among them.

In the end, Liverpool’s focus remains on building a team capable of competing at the highest level. Whether Fabinho stays or departs, the club will continue to evolve and strive for success in all competitions.
