While it may be understandable to contemplate letting him go given his age, it is crucial to recognize his immense value as the captain of a top European club, a regular international player, and the fact that he still has two more years remaining on his contract.
A small fee of £10m surely does not adequately reflect the significance of his contributions and his standing within the club.
