Journo clears up rumours linking Liverpool’s Alisson Becker to Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr has not made an approach to sign Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker despite rumours

As per David Lynch for This is Anfield (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is not a subject of approach for Saudi side Al-Nassr despite rumours circulating.

Hours before this update was made, French outlet Foot Mercato revealed that Al-Nassr are interested in signing Brazil’s number one goalkeeper.

Saudi Pro League clubs have done a lot of business with European clubs regarding player transfers this summer. We have seen Liverpool’s midfield duo of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson going

there. Sadio Mane plays for the club that were reported to be interested in Alisson.

Going back to the report from Lynch, it is good to know that no approach has been to sign the former Roma stopper. It is also revealed that the Brazilian is happy at Anfield and Liverpool would swiftly reject any offer that comes.

Alisson, 30, has been Liverpool’s most important player in the last 15 months. Had it not for him being in herculean form, the Reds would not have even finished in the league table. That’s how bad the team were during the 2022/23 campaign.

The Brazilian has started this season on a positive note with key saves in the opening game against Chelsea. Unless Liverpool sign a defensive midfielder to make the team solid, he would remain busier than normal for a keeper playing in a side that usually dominates possession in most games.

Amidst all the on-field qualities, Alisson is a fantastic human and a leader. After losing a lot of experience and leadership this summer, the last thing Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp would want is to lose him.

Having said that, the team owes him solidity in defence and midfield this season. Asking him to make 3-4 one-on-one saves every game would catch up and the goals will start to leak once again just like last year.
