Liverpool monitoring Fulham star and Bayern target Joao Palhinha
The Reds were actively looking to get on board a defensive midfielder earlier this summer. Liverpool bought Wataru Endo from Stuttgart to bridge that gap, but it seems like the player might take his time to settle into the Premier League.
Were Liverpool right or wrong in pursuing Endo is something only time will tell, but the signs are very encouraging as the Japanese international has been putting in the hard yards consistently and is showing a willingness to adapt to the demands of the English top-tier as quickly as possible.
However, the Reds might also do with someone who can bring in instant impact. One such player Liverpool could target is Fulham star Joao Palhinha who was extremely close to joining Bayern Munich on deadline day, but time went through leaving him in London.
Bayern still look to bring him on board in the next summer window, but then, Liverpool could also make a move for Palhinha. According to Anfield Watch via liverpool.com, the Reds are monitoring the 28-year-old Portuguese international.
Palhinha to the Reds?
The Fulham man might prove a smart investment for the Reds given he could bring instant impact thanks to his prior experience in the Premier League. However, whether or not the player would be open to a move to the Reds is a question that needs answering.
We understand that it was only a time factor which held him from moving to Munich on deadline day earlier this summer. He might want to re-explore that opportunity instead. However, nothing is in stone in the world of football, and the right offer might potentially bring him to Anfield as well.
