Liverpool could achieve a rare feat against Luton Town away this Sunday

The Reds could become the first team in the history of the Premier League to score a goal at all the stadiums used in the English first-division when Liverpool lock horns with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this Sunday.

Liverpool have scored in all the stadiums that have hosted at least one Premier League game so far bar Kenilworth Road. Jurgen Klopp’s men have a great chance of achieving this feat given Luton’s poor form this season, as The Hatters have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their games in the Premier League so far.

The Merseysiders on the other hand, have scored at least twice in each of their last six matches across all competitions. We have lost only one game in the league so far, and hopefully, we continue our positive start and also capitalise on the home side’s eerie form so far.

Liverpool's next game is at the smallest Premier League ground this season, away at Luton Town.
Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road is the smallest Premier League stadium this season.

As the BBC mentioned, Liverpool are vying to become the first club to score a Premier League goal at all 61 stadia used in the division.

Record Breakers

A win against Luton would take Liverpool to 27 points and to the top of the table, having played a game more than current league leaders, Tottenham. Incidentally, our only loss in the season came against Ange Postecoglou’s side in very controversial circumstances away from home.

Heading into this game, Jurgen Klopp‘s men are on the back of a win in the Carabao Cup against Bournemouth. Darwin Nunez made a difference off the bench, scoring an absolute wondergoal to take the Reds into the next round, where we face West Ham United.

Thanks to his heroics away at the Cherries, Nunez could start against Luton. A player like him would surely help the Reds break down a resolute defence in Luton Town, as his direct approach upfront could prove to be too much to handle for the already fragile backline of Rob Edwards.

Rafa Benitez’s squad beat the visitors 5-0 with Ryan Babel and Sami Hyypia complementing a hat-trick from Steven Gerrard. In terms of our last visit to Luton in the first division, that came in 1991 with the Reds drawing goal-less.
