West Ham United forward Michail Antonio told Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to “bring the money” for his teammate Jarrod Bowen

Outspoken West Ham United forward Michail Antonio highlighted things Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp needs to do to get Jarrod Bowen. This is not the first time Antonio has been talking about Liverpool on his podcast, drawing attention from the Kopites.

The 33-year-old took the spotlight before the Premier League clash between West Ham and Liverpool. He boasted about his club finishing above the Reds this season in the Premier League, the Hammers lost 3-1 comfortably.

Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League with 38 points while West Ham lies in ninth with 27 points. It seems likely that we have not heard last of Antonio talking about the Reds or anything related to the Merseyside giant. The Jamaican international has spent more time in podcasts than on the football pitch this season.

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah has continued his high level of productivity despite changes in his role this season.

Speaking on Footballer’s Football Podcast (h/t Mirror), Antonio pointed out the factors that would bring Bowen to Liverpool. He said:

“Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod. He can lay the seeds all he likes mate. The man has just signed a seven-year deal bro, if he wants that, he can bring the money. Who’s he going to replace, obviously he plays on the right. Are you hinting at something here? Are you letting Salah go yeah?”

Klopp praised Bowen before and after the Reds 5-1 victory against West Ham in the Carabao Cup. Bowen scored a fantastic goal in the game, showing the reason Klopp considers him, his favourite player outside Liverpool.

Several reports have repeatedly linked the 27-year-old with the Reds, suggesting the notion of eventually replacing Salah. However, the Egypt captain has neither shown any inclination towards leaving nor Liverpool want to let their best player go.

The 31-year-old is once again the leading goal scorer for the Reds this season, continuing his legacy at the club. Klopp has tinkered with Salah’s role as he relies more on playmaking and technical aspects than dribbling past opponents.

Salah has shown his ability to adapt and still produce the number of goals and assists that he used to. On the other hand, Bowen can be a solid squad player for the Reds despite their full-stacked attacking department.

Liverpool’s attack has been formidable this season despite the issues with a lack of composure and Darwin Nunez’s goal drought. Furthermore, Diogo Jota’s injury issues and Luis Diaz’s form are the only big concern for Klopp.

If anything, Bowen’s versatility can help him fill up in place of other Liverpool attackers depending on fitness and form. Antonio should not worry about the Reds and focus on his team which is battling for the top-six finish. The 33-year-old is acting as a football pundit in a player contract, much to the amusement of the Kopites.
