Liverpool plan to keep Mohamed Salah as they face numerous personnel changes after Jurgen Klopp announced his departure
Liverpool are pushing to keep Mohamed Salah as they await numerous personnel changes after Jurgen Klopp announced his exit. Klopp will depart as Liverpool’s manager in a surprising decision after feeling burnt out, protecting his mental and physical health.
The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table and have successfully progressed in every cup competition. Salah has played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s successful first half of the season, continuing his prolific career.
Klopp revamped the Reds’ midfield during the summer and changed the tactical role for Salah. The 31-year-old slightly dropped in his pace but remains in peak physical condition to continue being a threat in attack.
Salah has relied more on his technique and creativity than dribbling and pace, linking up with his teammates more often. The Egypt captain has contributed 18 goals and nine assists from 27 appearances in all competitions.
Football Insider reported that the Liverpool board are pushing to keep their legendary winger Mohamed Salah beyond the next summer. The 31-year-old’s contract expires on June 30, 2025 (h/t Transfermarkt), leaving only a year when he turns 32.
Liverpool would break their usual stance of not giving a lucrative contract to players nearing the end of their peak. However, the Egyptian has proven that he is capable of adapting according to his age and continues to produce goals.
"All parties agreed on that it makes sense that he [Mohamed Salah] is doing the rehab here"

Furthermore, Salah is one of the senior-most players and a leader inside the Reds’ dressing room. Losing Klopp and numerous staff members leaves a huge void at the club, and they cannot afford more immediate exits.
