Dimitar Berbatov predicts an entertaining draw between title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool which would benefit Manchester City

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov predicted an entertaining 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Liverpool in the upcoming clash. The Reds face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League showdown between the two title contenders.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table but few points separate them from other title rivals. Since the return of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, Manchester City are ready to build the momentum.

In the previous encounter, the Reds defeated the Gunners 0-2 in the FA Cup clash at the Emirates Stadium. The two teams played a 1-1 draw during the Premier League game at Anfield in December. Arsenal survived a penalty incident when Martin Odegaard used his hand to change the trajectory of the ball.

Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold could have his first start against Arsenal since returning from a knee injury.

Berbatov provided his matchday prediction for Metro.co.uk, expecting an entertaining 2-2 draw between the two teams. He wrote:

“The biggest game of the weekend and could really impact the title race. Liverpool won here not long ago in the FA Cup but both teams are pretty equal in my eyes. It should be a great game, and I am going to say another entertaining draw.”

Liverpool are currently in a spectacular winning form and need to be aware of any complacency when they face Arsenal. The emotions have been running high since Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced his departure at the end of this season.

Klopp has built a strong squad combined with young players who have taken their opportunities well, making their manager proud. Vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold returned from the knee injury sustained in January but he faces a tough competition from Conor Bradley.

Bradley earned the man of the match for his spectacular performance in the 4-1 win over Chelsea. The Northern Irishman provided two assists and scored a brilliant goal while keeping his side of the defence secured.

On the left side, Joe Gomez has been formidable in the makeshift left-back role while delivering consistent performances. Andy Robertson’s fitness adds to Klopp’s selection dilemma as he competes with Gomez for the starting berth, creating a positive headache for the manager.

Liverpool needs to deploy both caution and dominating attitude that they showed against Chelsea, to get a result against Arsenal. While dropping points would pile the pressure on the Reds, a victory could put a significant gap between them and the Gunners.
